From a longtime Holy Cross fan perspective, I agree with Matthews' thesis. Yes, we coulda been in the Big East but HC should be playing more New England and NY/NJ schools in both football and basketball and not far-flung league games in DC, Baltimore, Lewisburg, PA et. al. There really has nevah been much excitement in terms of rivalry etc for HC football or basketball in the Patriot League outside of maybe a brief period between HC and Bucknell in hoop during the 2000s and maybe the Colgate football game who we played yearly before the PL was formed anyway.

I don't think anything is changing in terms of league affiliation anytime soon....but long range, I could see schools/leagues returning to a more "local approach."

If you take the Outerbridge Crossing and the Verrazano Bridge, you're staying away of the thick of the NYC traffic.

I guess but Ive always run into traffic trying to press east on Long Island, much worse than NYC
