    Mangurian a good coach. Surprised he would take the job. Columbia has been a graveyard for good coaches

    I knew a Columbia grad quite a few years ago and when our conversation turned to sports he told me that Columbia only played football to "keep up appearances". Now I was never entirely sure exactly what this meant except that it was important for them to be on the field but not important to win. Empirically that would seems to be true. So why would any aspiring coach subject himself to that environment?
