Per Dave Schmidt of at Senior Reports, these are the schools applying to abandon ship from the NAIA to NCAA Division II (or in one of the below cases, NJCAA).

It seems there is a good possibility that more will join.

WILL APPLY
4-29-11
Union University (NAIA)

4-27-11
Holy Names University (NAIA)
Young Harris College (NJCAA)

4-26-11
Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NAIA)

4-22-11
Daemen College (NAIA)
Point Loma Nazarene University (NAIA)

4-21-11
Azusa Pacific University (NAIA)
Fresno Pacific University (NAIA)
Roberts Wesleyan University (NAIA)
What does this mean for the NAIA? Not all of these schools have football, but there's not many football institutions in NAIA compared to those with minimal sports and no football.

Most NAIA schools are not far from meeting NCAA minimums and there's tons of NAIAs that are far from fully-funding their programs and could possibly be NCAA Division III schools in the making.
