    SoCon Coach of the Year

IMO the COach of the Year award goes to Coach Mike Ayers of Wofford...

If not him, then I would give it to Coach Jerry Moore...

A good case could be made for either one. I wouldn't completely exclude Jeff Monken either.

    Brent Pry (GSU's Defensive Coord.)

I honestly think it would be between Ayers and Monken based on each teams improvement.

I think it's a horse race between Monken and Ayers.

Ayers had lots of injuries last year and that was the main cause of Wofford's downfall. Last year's young players are veterans now, and those injured kids are back. They've all been a part of the Ayers system since coming to Wofford.

Monken inherited a mess, brought in a new offense that none of the existing players at GSU were recruited to play and none of the 100+ players on the team, with the exception of transfer QB Jaybo Shaw, had ever run. He completely changed the defense and played at least 13 true freshmen most of the season; many in starting roles. Only two seniors saw any meaningful playing time.

Say what you will, but the job Monken did is nothing short of amazing. Let's not forget that GSU was predicted to finish dead last in the conference.

hard to say, either Ayers or Monken...definitely not Moore (sorry)....honorable mention Lembo (4 straight wins and turning a .333 record into an above .500 record)
