LeRoy Vann can breathe again.

After going five games without a punt or kick return for a touchdown, Vann took one back 51 yards to get FAMU's final score in a 31-27 victory over North Carolina A&T Saturday at Bragg Stadium.

Vann returned two punts each in games against Winston-Salem State and Howard University in September for touchdowns, but hadn't been close since. Kickers had avoided him, but he got a hold of Alex Grubb's 29-yard punt and didn't stop until he got into the end zone.

The return tied the single-season FCS record for punt returns for touchdowns at five. He also broke the single-season school record for punt return yards (540) as well as the school's single-season mark for punt returns for a touchdown.

"It relieves a whole lot of frustration," said Vann. "With (kickers) kicking the ball away from me, I had to work on calming down and take one play at a time."
