Gridiron Power Index?

whats the deal with the gridiron power index? I thought it was weekly

GPI does not come out til a little way's into the season, perhaps early October?

Can't have the GPI come out this early when many times have just one and some, no games to their name.

Top team in the GPI is Richmond.

Yeah, the GPI needs to wait until all the polls settle out and get close to correct. Only then can the GPI take those polls and give us a less accurate picture.

Same thing as with the BCS rankings, which wait until October before coming out officially.

Edit: Can't imagine anyone else at #1 other than Richmond
