Ty James of Mercer signed with Vikings. The safest thing for media to do with signings and tryouts is wait to let the actual school or NFL team announce because a lot of media reports tend to come out too early and things change.

11 FCS draft picks is a solid number but still far below what it use to be in the 2000s and I expect the average to drop into the single digits over the next 5 years or so. Between so many schools moving up and the portal the number is definitely not going to rise. There were a lot of players who got drafted that began their career in FCS or D2. Jared Verse, Tylan Grable, Dominick Puni, Hunter Nourzad, and Nick Gargiulo among those who transferred from D2 or FCS up to FBS and got drafted.

Ty AND Mercer Football posted on X last night that he had signed with / was going to the Ravens. Those posts have since been deleted. FUBeAR did see other info which had him going to both the Bears and the Vikings, where Mercer teammate WR/RS Devron Harper has signed.

I never saw the post on social media but got the release pretty quickly from the Vikings last night. Every year there is a rush to get news out and always a few cases where a player or team changes their mind.
