    SoCon Off-season thread - 2023-2024

    Yeah - it’s early, but 2024 Schedules are being released…

    https://mercerbears.com/sports/football/schedule/2024

    * Presbyterian @ Home to open - nice
    * Bethune-Cookman in Daytona - love it!
    * Bye after Week 5 & 3 straight SoCon games (2 on the road) - not bad
    * Princeton in Macon for Game 6 - breaking up SoCon games into 3 & 5 - love it!
    * @ Alabama - game 11 - um…OK
    * back Home for regular season finale against Furman - both Teams @ 11-0 and tied for 1st in FCS Rankings & SoCon Standings

    a lot to like about Mercer’s 2024 schedule

    Partial schedule for WCU - https://catamountsports.com/sports/f.../schedule/2024

    August 31st - @ NC State
    September 7th - CAMPBELL
    September 14th - @ Elon
    September 21st - @ Montana
    October 26th - @ Mercer
    November 9th - @ ETSU

    Lots of early-season opportunities for the Cats to help (or hurt) the SOCON's reputation. Additional home games will be against Chattanooga, Citadel, Wofford, and VMI. Away will be at Furman and Samford. Tough schedule for the Cats.

    So … that’s 4 SoCon & 3 OOC away games… 7 Away & 5 home … less than ideal, huh?

    Elon and ETSU are at least close away games for them. Though playing Elon at our place is never easy. For some reason recently we are a different home team than away

    CAA though … shouldn’t be a problem for a SoCon Team.
