Myles Russ, Mario Hines, and the Robert Morris defense shrugged off a lackluster first quarter - again - and gave Robert Morris coach Joe Walton a win in his return to the sideline. The Colonials are 2-0 in the NEC, 2-1 overall, and they've done it with a return to a stifling defense that showed up in force yet again.

A week after outscoring Monmouth 20-3 in the final three quarters, the Colonials roared out to a 28-7 lead in the second and third quarters against St. Francis. The strong play in the middle part of the game centered on a ball-control style offense and an opportunistic defense. Myles Russ, in his second week as the feature back, picked up 89 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns. Russ scored his first touchdown as a collegian when he sprinted in from six yards out midway through the second quarter.
