    No question, in terms of chances of success, staying healthy and making a lot of money, baseball over football any day. Football has been my favorite sport since I was 8 years old, but my eyes went bad at 10, and the batting average went with it. The body does not take the beating in baseball as compared to football. Ricky has the most important component for success in professional sports..his quickness/speed. It makes up for a lot of other physical deficiencies.

    Greg Gumbel, long time CBS sports broadcaster, dies at 78 due to cancer. Most here will remember him as the host of the TV coverage of March Madness tournament.

    Can't believe the Bob Uecker hadn't been mentioned, yet. Been away for a week with my son's family visiting. The loss of "Ueck" was stunning to me. Just loved the guy. Him being a Phillie for a few years had something to do with that. Such a natural sense of humor. I am sure the "clubhouse upstairs" is rollicking in laughter....Also, wasn't aware as to how ill he was, having seen him broadcast last fall during then playoffs. Sad to lose him...
