Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College football team kicks off Spring Practice today, Friday, March 28 at 8:30 am, with the first of 15 sessions, culminating with the annual Green & White Game on Saturday, April 26 at Noon. The Seahawks, who return seven starters on both sides of the ball, will open the 2014 season on Saturday, August 30 at Georgetown in the first of four straight road contests. In week two, Wagner , which went 3-8 in 2013 after claiming the 2012 Northeast Conference title, will travel to Florida International on September 6, marking the third consecutive season the Seahawks will face a Football Bowl Championship Subdivision team. Wagner opened the 2012 season at Florida Atlantic and played at Syracuse last season. In week three, the Green & White will make the short trek to West Long Branch, NJ to meet former Northeast Conference (NEC) foe Monmouth on September 13 before capping its four-game, season-opening road stretch in the first night game of the season at Lafayette in a 6:00 pm start on September 27. Wagner opens its 2014 home calendar on October 4 by hosting Division II member Alderson Broaddus College in a 6:00 pm kickoff under the lights at Hameline Field. On October 11, the Seahawks begin NEC play with a home date vs. Saint Francis U as Wagner alternates home and away games throughout the NEC campaign. Following a bye week, the Seahawks travel to Central Connecticut on October 25 before hosting Sacred Heart playing host to Sacred Heart on November. Wagner is at Robert Morris on November 8, returns home to face Duquesne on November 15, before rounding out the 2014 regular season at Bryant on November 22.
