    Re: Early top 25 thoughts?

You have an active imagination it seems. You have no idea who Iíve rated preseason number one so you make something up to discredit my observation. FWIW, I donít recall ever rating SHSU preseason...

    Re: Southland Off-Season News

As good as Fourcade might be, he has to have protection. We sacked him five times last year and their line does not look as good on paper this year as last, Iím going with your QB and better...

You didnít include ACU. FIFY. An understandable oversight. We have grown used to being overlooked.

    Re: Early top 25 thoughts?

Thanks for looking for new ways to provide us with the information we need to make more informed decisions. Iím skeptical of preseason polls precisely because so little is known about the programs we...

    Re: Early top 25 thoughts?

I could make a case for 7 teams from the Southland Conference. The seven teams that were separated by s total of two games at the end of last season. Itís gonna be a wild ride thus year in the SLC.

    Re: Early top 25 thoughts?

Most people who participate in preseason polls donít have a clue about schools in conferences other than their own. They rely instead on last year and the overall playoff history to base their...

  11. Re: First-time playoff-eligible teams making it in 2019?

The FCS connection: Several good shots of FCS legendary coach Coach Erk Russell (Ga Southern) on the sideline during his days as the Dawgs Defensive Coordinator.
  12. Re: First-time playoff-eligible teams making it in 2019?

speaking of a Georgia reference. Dawgs like the James Brown version. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YViDwVBpTn4
  13. Re: First-time playoff-eligible teams making it in 2019?

The same could be said of any of our opponents. If I had to guess Iíd say Abilene will win 8 games this year, following 2 and 6 win seasons. Whether thatís good enough to make the playoffs is another...

ok, Having amused myself with a flippant response....Iíll move on....

How dangerous? Dangerous enough to beat any FCS team on their schedule and score some points on the two FBS teams they face....
  15. Re: First-time playoff-eligible teams making it in 2019?

    Excellent question.
  16. Re: First-time playoff-eligible teams making it in 2019?

a Georgia reference would have been spelled Dawg

  18. Re: First-time playoff-eligible teams making it in 2019?

Abilene Christian has the deepest, most talented team in its brief FCS history. Trouble is, a lot of other teams in the Southland have upped their game and the Wildcats play four conference...
  19. Re: Rumor : Texas Southern looking to move to Southland Conference

If the Big 12 can have 10 members and the Big 10 fourteen or the Southeastern Conference can include teams from Texas and Missouri, the Rust Belt can define itself any way it chooses. xlolx

    Re: Southland Off-Season News

Interesting point about which teams we do and donít match up well against. The two games that surprised me the.most last year were UCA and Nicholls. I was surprised by how dominant we were in the...
