Re: B10 no longer scheduling FCS teams

There's a good reason behind this. It's not because they're arrogant. It's not because they want to deliberately screw over I-AA teams. It's because their strength of schedule in recent years has...

    Re: IT'S GAME TIME!

No point watching the WF-Presbyterian game. It's clear the Demon Deacons are predestined to win.

    Re: Darmouth on the Rise

If he can eke out 4 wins that would be a major accomplishment. I just checked their records. Holy Hell, they haven't had a winning season since I lived in New Hampshire.

    I think the...
  4. Re: Troubling Poll on the Holy Cross VoyForums Board

I'm confused... as near as I can tell, Holy Cross has been playing Division III football since the mid '90s.

  5. Re: New Ivy League "Commissioner": More of Same?

30 Conferences do it for the reasons I stated earilier: The great God Television.

Also, aren't you the guy who goes berserk over how everyone should use artificial turf? Can I safely assume...
  6. Re: New Ivy League "Commissioner": More of Same?

Well, my deliberately absurd analogy did at least get your attention! :D

Are you going to stick with the "Everyone else is doing it" defense?
  7. Re: New Ivy League "Commissioner": More of Same?

Precisely. It's no less ridiculous than awarding the auto-bid to a team based on a 3 or 4 game win streak at the end of the season, as opposed to awarding it based upon a season's worth of work.
  8. Re: New Ivy League "Commissioner": More of Same?

And some teams get worse. See Baylor.
  9. Re: New Ivy League "Commissioner": More of Same?

That's pretty much how it is regardless. You seldom see a 4-22 team play any better during their lone tournament game. Anyway, if all teams are eliglble to qualify for the NCAA Tournament by virtue...
  10. Re: New Ivy League "Commissioner": More of Same?

That's a different scenario. I was referring to the conferences were all teams partcipate. I'm still not a big fan of tournaments regardless.
  11. Re: New Ivy League "Commissioner": More of Same?

Men's BBall tournaments exist for one reason only: TV.
The major leagues due it for for the money. The Big East, ACC, SEC, Big 10, & Pac-10 command signifigant moolah for their tournament games. ...

    Re: Brown leaving UMass

Very true. For every Jim Tressel, there are about 5 Mark Duffners or Buddy Teevenses. The disparaties between a typical I-A program and a typical I-AA program keep getting bigger. It's an "arms...

But they don't have an international airport.

Yale could use an international airport.

Wait a second.... Did Northeastern say Maryland could talk to him?

  15. Re: ESPN College Gameday (11/15) will broadcast from Florida A&M

No. In 2002 they went to Penn for the Harvard-Penn game.
  16. Re: Gene Wojciechowski hits the nail on the head about FCS playoffs/BCS

Mr. Wojciechowski is wrong about the BCS. It works like a charm. His argument is completely off base because he writes it under the assumption that the BCS was intended to crown a "true" national...
  17. Re: Students rush the field = lose home field advantage?

If true, that would seem excessive.
I'm in favor of this rule:
If students rush the field during or after the game, they shall have their civil rights violated by police and security personnel...
