Big difference between St. Thomas (with plenty of funds to support a move to FCS) moving to FCS versus NDSU moving to FBS — without a conference to go to.

Not disputing that this could have had an effect on people's willingness to support the team, but it strikes me as a bit of an odd position for folks to take. As fans, isn't it our "job" to support...
I dunno... when computer ratings accurately predict the winner of games roughly 75% of the time, and most of the time they get the winner "wrong," the result is well within the margin of error...
Anything can happen, but if Lance's coaches, predecessors and mentors offer any indication, I don't think you'll see Lance slack off any due to the attention. In fact, if anything, it will probably...
You don't think other institutions would be higher on their radar and a better fit?

Ha! This is hilarious. Now I know you're just trolling.

As far as I understand... a lot.
The B1G especially has a very strong reputation for academics and research. It's part of their brand. Note the cliche that "student" comes first in the term...
Neither here nor there, but South Dakota State has not yet won at the Dance. NDSU has technically won twice, but one of them was just one of the "play-in" games. As a #12 seed, their win against...
It sounds like FCS is probably not the right place for A&T then, along with other schools who aren't interested in playing for an NCAA championship through the playoff system. The name of the...
You're not very good at this, are you?
Look, you said, and I quote:
I pointed out that one person did, in fact, say A&T is a better team than NDSU. See quote below.
And now you're...
R.A. Is quotes above as saying that "A&T WILL beat them if NDSU hasn't progressed as a team from 2019."
He is clearly indicating that the NDSU team is inferior to the A&T team. He offers no...
Showing that you're the better team on any particular day absolutely takes place on the field. No arguments. But the body of work is what determines which team is better. That's why you see teams...
No. There's a difference between believing your team is better than another (when it is clearly not) and believing that you have a chance to win.

That's the sort of scenario that I'm hoping for and half expecting. My expectations might be too high, and I might walk away disappointed, but I'm okay with that.
Football only somehow? I don't think there's any question. All sports? I think they'd find a way to make it happen.
But that's a pretty big hypothetical. Monkeys will fly out of my butt before it...
Expect a good game. Expect NDSU to remain within striking distance the entire game. And maybe expect a surprise NDSU win. But that might be expecting too much.

Evidently. At least one individual is making that claim. See my post just above. I'm in the same boat as you.
It's maybe not far off from me posting on an Oregon fan forum that we have a shot at...
Wait... what??? I just started reading this thread. Was just about to determine that it isn't worth reading the spats back and forth, and then I saw this gem. I am guessing that others have called...
Here I was giving NDSU a roughly 10-15% chance to beat Oregon next year. And Massey is suggesting we have a 20% chance. I like that even better! And in Massey's 7-game simulator, NDSU won four of...
Maybe... but they've lost more games at home in this stretch than they have on the road. Hard to say.
Also -- outside of 2013, 2018, & 2019, the MVFC has handed NDSU a loss or two each year.
For those talking about the size of the media market... I have to wonder if some of the media attention that NDSU has been getting over the past few years has given them somewhat of a "national"...
Thanks! I didn't actually expect an answer. Ha ha!
I figured it would be something like that. I believe he calculates a score for the offense, the defense, and overall for the team. (I'm sure...

That's a lot of really good teams right there. I would be interested in seeing the metrics that he used to develop the list. The order may be debatable on some of them, depending on the criteria...
NDSU will look more like Wisconsin versus the Ducks than Montana versus the ducks. The Bison very likely won't win, but I think it's a stretch to anticipate a blowout unless the wheels just fall off...
