    Re: NEC expansion

MEAC could get a shot in the arm if A&T and Hampton come back, which they should IMO. The HBCU are stronger together and it behooves those two to go all in on the Celebration Bowl.

    I don't think...

Or LeMoyne....I like the Mercyhurst add. Would be only DI basketball and football program in Erie, which is a decent-sized city. Mercyhurst football not great on the field though, 2-9 in the very...

    Re: NEC expansion

RMU left in all-sports to go to the Horizon League. Less travel -- easier to get to Indiana and Michigan from western PA than it is to get to CT. Highly doubt they'd come back.

    Re: Delaware to CUSA

Georgetown and Howard should be an annual game. Villanova and Penn should be as well.

Would be cool if 'Nova started a series with the Hoyas now that their end-of-season rival is moving to FBS....

    Re: AFL-CIO Comes to Hanover

Title IX would definitely not apply if the club handles all the financials.

Title IX isn't going anywhere because it's a piece of the 1964 Civil Rights Act that ensures all "protected classes" receive equitable funding and opportunity where Title IX is applied to...

    Re: AFL-CIO Comes to Hanover

Title IX would apply to anything that's institution-funded, since the institution accepts federal dollars. If the student-athletes are the ones footing the bill for everything, then Title IX doesn't...

    Re: Delaware to CUSA

And C-USA could be the old WAC 2.0. Let's be real and admit that the reason UD is in C-USA is because they wanted FBS and that's the FBS conference that invited them.

    Also, programs HAVE moved...

As DFW Hoya pointed out, unions don't care whether their employers are profitable or not (look at the MTA in New York City!!). However, this is a great prospective when you compare it to how labor...

    Re: Delaware to CUSA

Who knows? The MAC still hasn't brought in anyone else...YET. Were they stonewalled again by WKU and/or MTSU? Will they stay at 13 for now with uneven divisions in football? We'll find out if there...

I think the unionization trend is looking bigger picture than a cafe though...an Ivy League basketball coach doesn't have the clout that Pitino or Boeheim have at their schools. A union is the...

    Re: AFL-CIO Comes to Hanover

99.99% of all sports programs in the NCAA lose money. There are only a handful of athletic departments as a whole that aren't in the red. I wonder what the end-game is for the Dartmouth basketball...

Interesting point. Times may have changed, but I also remember at the time I was in college, student managers for sports teams were made MUCH, MUCH less than they would have made had they been paid...

You guys are better off staying out of that sewage dump of an FBS conference. Two years ago, when CUSA was down to like 3 schools, I actually proposed that CUSA could've created a Mountain West...

Truth. C-USA right now is the conference for any warm bodies aspiring to jump to the "second level" of college football before the pending "Great Reset" that you describe. Will probably be P3 and not...

Thanks, a couple other posters also said something similar. I had no idea that was the case as, on the surface, it would seem absurd for a school like MTSU to not have taken that lifeboat. Did they...

Has nothing to do with the NCAA. Entire conferences in FCS have never been able to just "declare" themselves FBS -- there are barriers to entry. For the longest time, the only way for a school to...

    Re: Delaware to CUSA

I'm sure it would have, if that were allowed. Since the split, I don't think a conference has ever been allowed to "move up" from I-AA/FCS to I-A/FBS. The last two FBS conferences to be created were...
