That reminds me of what a guy who owned a fishing camp on Toledo Bend Lake told me once. He said that they would get in their boat and travel 30 minutes up the Lake to fish by someone else's boat dock, while the guy with that dock was traveling 30 minutes down the Lake to go fish by their dock.

Re: Southland Off-Season News
Had a chance to review our class.
Signed everyone I listed yesterday. Two of our 3 star players I listed are gray shirting and becoming eligible next January so they don't count toward this signing class. Another kid went the route of community college. So three that won't contribute this season at gametime. But some of our transfers have 3 years of eligibility left so that's good news. Will any of them pan out? Who knows. UCA has never had this many 3 stars sign. The ones we have had sign tended to make all conference but again we've typically only signed one or two a year tops and some years none.
What I liked about his class:
The players we recruited have a "proactive" mentality to football. In film and in person I have seen some of our defensive recruits think ahead on plays which caused them to do things like cut off routes and fill gaps in the line tackling a running back. Some with such aggression. We've had pretty good luck with individual defensive players some going to the NFL. But I think this class will play better as a team where the stats just won't stick out but the will be evenly distributed.
The offensive players on the other hand are individual talents. WRs running clean routes and linemen dominating their assignment.
We won't likely see the firstfruits of this class next year because they are freshman but we are building it up again. Hopefully next year we won't lose two QBs for the rest of the season in one game early in the season! xlolx
Re: Southland Off-Season News
We signed a good class and we should because, after all, we are the Crown Jewel of Faulkner County.

xlolxxlolx McNeese is the "gold standard" of the conference. UCA is the "crown jewel" of faulkner county. Isn't SFA something I've heard on here before? xconfusedx Love the nicknames. xlolx

Carthel must have blown out the place. That is a LOT of new players. Any insight into what's going on with the new regime?
