This weekend pits two of the top 3 preseason picks in the Big South Conference. Liberty has not lost a home conference game since 2006 but is coming into this weekend with a 3-3 record and a below average team (minus Mike Brown). Coastal Carolina comes in with a record of 4-1 (including a 34-10 win over VMI in their conference opener last weekend). Last time the Chants came to Lynchburg, they were deep fried to the tune of 58-13 (part of a run where the Flames scored 50 points in 4 of 5 games).

I don't have a good feeling about this game for two reasons:

(1.) Lynchburg hasn't been kind to the Chants, or anyone else in the Big South over the last five years. Like you said BJ, the Flames haven't lost a conference home game since '06.

(2.) LU is going to be looking for redemption after last year's unexpected beatdown in Conway.

Glad to see these teams battle it out. I've had them both at the bottom of the Top 25/top of ORV all season.

Good one to watch from Long Island. Either way StonyBrook will benefit plus we have both Coastal and Liberty at home this season. Good luck to both teams !

It is just a shame that they can't both lose this one.

Random city hatred? Can't imagine you've spent much time in the 'burg.

Driving up to the game tonight after work. Should be a good match. Supposed to be windy and could effect the game. Heard the lu fans are pretty "in your face" and vulgar. I won't start anything, but if you get in my face and start swearing at me, I have every right to do one of two things:
1) say Goddamnit repeatedly, and start worshiping satan lol
2) sic the Chris Farley girl after you lol

Its in the back part of the main parking lot across from the stadium, right next to Route 460 (hence the name). Theyre behind the bookstore (which is one of the first things youll see along with the visitors Center and the stadium)

more than I care to. Shot one game at LU and may be worst game day experience yet. The lights went out during the game and Rev. Falwell had to extend the Saturday night curfew so students could stay for the entire game.

Flames came to play. For all those who had written on Liberty, those three losses are looking better by the day. Losing @ Lehigh by 3 and by a FG as timed expired to JMU were heartbreaking at the time but quality losses in retrospect. We'd love to have another shot at NC State where I seriously doubt we'd turn it over 7 times the next go-around.
