Haven't seen the attendance figure yet, but since there was a threat of rain, I'm assuming not many

16,[email protected] MANY OD FANS!

I noticed from the video feed that the band was in t-shirts and jeans, so I'm guessing there was either a good chance of rain, or actual rain during the game, but it was hard to tell. Was it a rainy day that made the attendance so low?

27,304 in Boone today for App v. ChatI refuse to believe this being theire, it was full. Bank was full, end zone seats were full even that little portion of bank over near the north end zone was cramped. I couldn't see my side (I'm on the east side) but the west side looked pretty full. Had to be more than 27,300

I refuse to believe this from me not being there. I'd like to state several wild assumptions that there is a vast conspiracy to over report the attendance despite the fact it does absolutely nothing to benefit the university to over or under report attendance at any event if it ever intends to make money from advertising. I think the NCAA should contact Baylor and have Kenneth Starr immediately open an investigation into this as a great fraud is being perpretrated against the American public. Read my lips... No more fake attendance!

Announcers on tv said 8,000+ for Stony Brook, that's a pretty good crowd for SBU and any team on Long Island.

Not when you see who the opponent is. UND hasn't hosted a DI team for the Potato Bowl since 1983 (Montana St). Next season it could be either Central Arkansas or Cal Poly, and in 2013 its either South Dakota State or Montana St. Attendance will go through the roof!!

I doubt many Delaware State fans went down. That's why Delaware State, Howard, Morgan, etc have never been invited. It is a MEAC team (almost always Florida A&M but they tried twice with South Carolina State) vs either Tennessee State or Southern. It's an event held by the 100 Black Men of Atlanta and sponsored by Bank of America.

September 26th, 2011, 11:29 AM
The only reason I can come up with for Georgia Southern having that low of an attendance number is because they didn't count the high school band students. I was at the Tuscrotum game where they reported 22000 and could see empty seats, and at the WCU game I could find a single empty seat. Maybe Sam Baker got his Mountain math backwards

Yes, they'd probably get 12k for WM and probably ODU now as well, and around 15k for JMU. However, in order to build an on-campus stadium, they had to limit the size to 8,700, the same as their on-campus basketball arena, in order to appease the traffic concerns the surrounding neighborhoods had and obtain the necessary permits. This is something a private school like UR has to deal with that the public schools could just push through and build what they want.
