This is a big one. Should be a very exciting game as both teams really want a win here.

If EWU loses this one. I'm seriously turning in my cleats for the season. I can't take a winless sept, especially when Idaho State has two wins already.

I think UM pretty much gave the secret away on how to beat EWU: run the ball often, and right up the middle. Control the clock, keep Bo Levi off the field. MSU has one of the best RB tandems in the BSC, with Cody Kirk leading the charge. If he can get some decent holes to run through, he will be the catalyst for an MSU win.

Montana State bobbles the opening kick-off, then brings the ball out anyway (!) First and ten Bobcat ball at about the 9.

MSU has a good opening drive going - first and ten now at about the 45.

McGhee gets sacked for a loss of about nine yards on the next play. EWU defense is being a bit aggressive but is also playing fired-up.

EWU gets more passing yards in one play than they seemed to last week on their first series; already down to the ten yard line. Second and goal after a run was sniffed out by the Bobcat defense.

(Mitchell's pass was gorgeous for the long completion).

Impressive leg for that kicker. They don't even get to claim it's due to the elevation (Cheney is about half the elevation of Bozeman, I think).

That's correct - and he had plenty to clear with on both field goals. The Cats' coach said, "Yeah, he said he was feeling pretty good today..."

So MSU christens the "Inferno" with its first loss? Nice...

CopperCat

Just got done watching the game via horribly laggy internet feed (but hey, it's free). McGhee has played MUCH better than that, he needs to make better decisions downfield when throwing it. However, he did make some great reads in the backfield with the option handoffs. Burned EWU for a good 15 yards with about 2 minutes left to put the last nail in the coffin. If we can win on the road against the defending national champions with medicore QB play, I'd hate to be the opposing team when he lights it up like he has and the running game is working. Cody Kirk is a S T U D, most consistent RB in the conference right now. Great win for the CATS, and yes, the "inferno" has been christened.
