Griffin displayed those qualities at Lakeland High, a 5-A school that often imitated the Eagles' triple-option alignment. (6-A is the highest classification in Florida.) During his last two years, Griffin threw for 2,146 yards and 23 touchdowns. He also ran for 1,378 yards and 15 touchdowns.

As a senior, Griffin directed Lakeland to a state championship while earning second-team all-state honors.

"This is closer to Lakeland's offense than last year's," Griffin said after practice Monday. "We ran the option, but we also threw the ball."

I can't wait for the spring game. I have a feeling this will have a very large crowd. Then... a long wait for the season.:mad:
