I don't think this has happend before but just giving it thought...

1. Do you think a I-AA team would do this? I am talking about the following type teams:
Houston
Rice
San Jose State
All Sun Belt Teams
Most MAC teams
Rutgers
Temple etc...

I am talking about a I-AA traveling to your place with your team agreeing to two return trips with no money exchanging...

2. Would you like have a Houston type team come to your place for return trips??? As fan or an AD...

I'm sure a lot of I-AA schools would love such an arrangement but you'll never get a I-A school to bite. I doubt there's a I-A AD in the country with enough job security to pull that one off. Would be nice but ain't gonna happen.

I think more important than the stigma of a I-A playing at a I-AA is money. It'd have to be enough of a guarantee to overcome the stigma and it'd have to be a I-A who really needed the money. The bottom of the I-A barrel (those listed) isn't really much more of a draw than most I-AA teams, so it's something of a moot point I think

Isn't UMass and like Army in the midst of two for one as we speak? It has happened before...

And why would UH or Rice come to a I-AA? Rice has been able to get home-and-homes with Big XII schools like Texas Tech, Oklahoma St and Kansas! They were able to get 2 for 1 deals with Texas and UCLA.

Houston wouldn't do it either. They are a team that is competing for a bowl game year in and year out. They've been able to some of the lower I-A competition (New Mexico St, ULL) to do home and home with them. Even did a home-and-home with Oregon.

None of these teams have any reason to do this...

Sorry to burst your bubble, especially with Rice who is heading in the right direction under a new coach, but that would definitely be a turn for the wrong door if they decided to do that. Seems like a 'Bobcat Pipe Dream'...

Maybe if they eliminate the DI-AA label, it'll happen more often. They've already made playing DI-A v DI-AA matchups less punitive for DI-A teams.

It's very difficult to get a I-A to agree to play at a I-AA. Delaware and Navy played a home/home series from '85 - '90... but since then all UD/Navy games have been played in Annapolis.

There are a couple of I-A's who might stand to make more money from visting a I-AA than hosting one. Problem is, they'd rather visit a BCS I-A that's going to pay them even more.

I would rather go to a nearby BCS school 3 times with a big check than host any of those teams on a 2 of 1 basis. If you could get a home and home, I might change my mind.

At JSU, several I-AA schools would draw as well as San Jose State, Houston, Rice, or any MAC or SunBelt school. Send me Delaware, Montana, UNI, App, Villanova, UMASS, or most any other good to decent I-AA on a home and home deal.

We had 13,982 for Furman no I-A that should be I-AA would draw than many in the Snow.

My apologies. The NCAA lists NDSU, UNC, SDSU and UC-D at the bottom of the page. Fixed. In all fairness, McNeese should be on the list with their normal attendance of 12-16K.

Actually Montana and Idaho had a 5 year deal. UM got 3 home games, UI had 2. Idaho won the first game, but the Griz won the next 4.

UH and Rice are too arrogant and would NEVER travel to a I-AA. After a couple of close calls, Rice won't schedule us anymore and UH, well let's just say it is UH.

Perhaps if the I-AA decides to have there game at a neutral site.

Remember the 22,479 figure has the Thanksgiving playoff game included (16,000). For the regular season we averaged 23,500.

When we played Idaho, we paid them $200,000. Tickets were $5 higher for that game.
