The bottom floor with all of the windows is going to be the football weight room so the players can see the field when they are working out... I think it will help them "keep focus"

The facility is the first part of a 4 or 5 phase renovation. Double-decking the visitors side is the next phase.

If you saw the original leaked pictures, you will notice that the design has changed slightly.

You must not have gotten the memo on how demeaning it is to refer to one side of your stadium as a visitors side?

Either that or you are just a normal, well adjusted fan that doesn't worry about these sorts of silly bs things.

BTW, that is a very cool upgrade you guys have going on there.

If common sense intervened, I'd imagine those reading this would understand that the writer meant 'visitors sideline'. There's a vistors sideline in every FB stadium in the country, unless we are speaking of home teams that switch sidelines every game. Don't imagine that happens often.

That is the same argument I used with an App fan on CS a few months back that was trashing other App fans for calling one side the visitors side. He exclaimed that this was the exact kind of bad fan thinking that was holding App back from moving forward.xlolx

would figure a rendering would be an enticement in this day and age. why not make it 3-D?

So what? I would bet they will have it and this is just the first thing out as it usually is. Also in any given time period someone is the last to upgrade anyway.

Correction: Phase 2 will be extending the current seating through the endzones to the existing light poles. Phase 3 will be the luge deck over the north stands. :-) GATA EAGLES!

We aren't upgrading our facilty per se. We already did that. The Bishop Field House was built in 2006 and replaced the old field house. We upgraded our weight room and coaches offices a few years back. The new president and Coach Monken want that stuff at the stadium though. The plus is that the current football offices will be given to the rest of the non-football coaches. The Iron Works (weight room) which is used by everyone currently, will be for non-football athletes.

This is a brand new seperate facilty for football only. Something that will majorly benefit our football program with regards to day-to-day ops and recruiting.

Btw, the renderings do not show the statue of Erk that is going to erected in the middle of the plaza in front of it.

According to the website, completion is scheduled to be January 2013. I'm sure that will change over time.

Hummmm.... a dedicated space for a Hall of Fame. What a concept! ASU built a $40 million facility and somehow forgot to include a space for one of those. They also didn't set aside an area to showcase the history of the program and display trophies. Had to go back in and remodel the reception area for that. It is very nice, but space limited what could be done.

I understand these types of facilities are all the rage now, but considering the location of the practice fields in relationship to the stadium why would you put a weight room and football offices on the opposite side of campus? It is a great looking facility, but why not expand the existing field house for all the fan stuff, build a new scoreboard and put seats put in that endzone.

IMO - GSU needed to make a statement with a new facility. The supporters have been wanting upgrades to the facilities for a long time, and when Bishop was built, it was way undersized.

Excellent point. The Track at the Track/Soccer field at Paulson will fall out of warranty in 2014 at which time a new track and soccer complex will be built where the current practice fields are and Football Practice will be moved to Paulson.

We may need to dig another drainage ditch and tell people it's a continuation of Beautiful Eagle Creek, though.
