Villanova is continuing to lose ground with the Big East because PPL Park (18,500) is too small for the Big East's de facto stadium size requirements.

Does any I-AA conference have a minimum capacity requirement for their stadiums?

I don't think any FCS conference has a minimum capacity.

I think the NCAA has a minimum capacity for stadiums for new FCS teams, however current teams are grandfathered in.

The Big Sky ranges from 25,203 (Montana) to 6200 (Southern Utah) thats a big difference. I didn't see anywhere on FCS conference requirements only the FBS one.

Missouri Valley does not have quite the disparity of the Big Sky with regards to member institution's stadium capacity. The biggest is Youngstown State at 20,630 and the smallest is Indiana State at 12,764.

Average size for a MVFC stadium is about 16,300.

The PL has a pretty big disparity between the largest and smallest. Holy Cross's Fitton Field is 23,500 while Georgetown's MSF is about 3,000. The Patriot League in general has very solid facilties.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's any secret that Georgetown's stadium situation is less than ideal, and then some. It might be the worst facility in the country. The setting itself is really nice though. My avator was ironically taken at the MSF.

Fitton Field HC 23,500
Goodman Stadium, Lehigh 16,000 seats, 20-22k with General Admission bank
Fisher Field, Lafayette 13,132
Christ Matthewson, Bucknell 13,100
Andy Kerr, Colgate 10,221
Jack Coffey Field, Fordham 7,000
MSF, Georgetown 3,000

Average='s 12,279

The MSF is officially full at 2,500, and unless you've seen it in person most fans don't realize how little was actually built.

I don't know of any minimum capacity requirements, but I would certainly support them.

The smallest MVFC stadium starting next year will be South Dakota's Dakotadome, seating 10,100.

Both SD teams in the Valley have the two smallest stadium capacities. USD's at 10,100 and SDSU at something like 10,300. Thouugh SDSU can put over 16,000+ in theirs.

I doubt any conference has a hard rule about capacity, but it's certainly taken into consideration when each team is admitted into the conference. Significant decreases in capacity like at Rhode Island and especially Richmond are pretty rare, and there's usually some other upside to doing that.

I don't know how up to date the list is on wikipedia. They list UND at 12,283 but the AC's offical site lists it at 13,500.

So it appears that DFW has had far more posts on AGS than there are seats at Georgetown for football. Is that a comment about DFW or the MSF? Hmmmmmmxlolx
