Congrats to Texas Southern! They 'finished strong' and enter the SWAC title game on a run. They lost to SWAC foe Prairie View A&M in their opener by two... fell at UConn 62-3 and also lost to Division II Tuskegee 21-14 (with a win against Alabama A&M) tucked in...

Won the remaining seven games after that...coming for first SWAC title since 1968 and first outright...

Tigers beat Alabama State 21-7 on Oct. 2 at their place... game drew 12,182 fans... Johnnie Cole was A-State's OC from 2000 through 2002...

SWAC games left include Tuskegee-Alabama State and Bayou Classic (Grambling-Southern).

SWAC title game is at 1 p.m. in Birmingham on Dec. 11.

Is Tuskegee an abnormally good Div II team? Beating TX-Southern and having a recent history winning record vs. Alabama State makes me think there might be something going on there...

Tuskegee has been one of the more consistently dominant teams in the SIAC. They should seriously consider moving up to the SWAC (also FVSU to make 12 teams) but they have that "big fish, small pond" mentality.
