SLC TITLE, CHIEF CADDO TROPHY ON THE LINE IN SEASON FINALE: The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack (8-2/5-1 SLC) football team will host Northwestern State with a lot to play for Saturday. The Demons enter the contest 5-5 (.500) on the season, and 4-2 (.667) in Southland Conference play. Northwestern State has won four of its last five games, but is coming off a 37-7 setback against Nicholls in Natchitoches. The Lumberjacks enter Saturday's contest looking to win back-to-back conference titles, and to keep Chief Caddo in Nacogdoches. The game against the Demons will be televised on the Southland Television Network, and is slated to kick off at 2 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium.

SFA vs. the DEMONS: The ’Jacks trail the all-time series against Northwestern State, 21-42-3 (.341), but the two teams have split the last four meetings. SFA recorded a 19-10 victory in Natchitoches, La., last season. SFA is 6-14 (.300) against the Demons in Nacogdoches dating back to the 1970 season.

LOOKING TO GO BACK TO BACK: SFA is looking to win back-to-back games against the Demons for the first time since the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

LOOKING FOR BACK-TO-BACK TITLES: SFA will lock up at least a share of the Southland Conference title with a victory over Northwestern State. It would be the first time in school history that SFA has recorded a conference title in consecutive seasons.

PATIENT FANS: The Lumberjacks have the opportunity to do something in front of their own fans that hasn't happened since 1989. If SFA defeats Northwestern State it would be the first time the ’Jacks have received a conference trophy at home since the 1989 championship season.

IN SEARCH OF #9: If the Lumberjacks can get past Northwestern State it would give them nine wins for the second consecutive season. It would be the first time since the 1988 and 1989 seasons that SFA has recorded at least nine wins in back-to-back years.

SLC'S ALL-TIME LEADING PASSER: Jeremy Moses set conference career marks for completions, touchdown passes, passing yards and yards of total offense in 2010. He also became the first player in league history to record 12,000 passing yards and yards of total offense and 1,100 completions in a career.

AMONG THE FCS ALL-TIME BEST: Senior quarterback Jeremy Moses is among the all-time greatest quarterbacks in FCS history. The ’Jacks' gunslinger is 11th all-time at the FCS level in total offense (12,366), eighth all-time in passing yards (12,572), tied for fifth all-time in touchdown passes (118) and fourth all-time in completions (1,116).

THE COACHES: J.C. Harper became the 18th head coach of the SFA Lumberjack football team in December 2006, following two seasons as the team's defensive coordinator. Harper was named the 2009 SLC Coach of the Year after guiding SFA to it's first conference crown in 10 years. The title came only two years following an 0-11 season. Harper is 22-24 (.478) in three seasons as a head coach. Northwestern State head coach Bradley Dale Peveto is 5-16 (.238) in his second season with the Demons.
