UTSA, Texas State Announcement ???

Can anyone confirm that UTSA & Texas State are set to announce they are going to join the WAC this week? I have heard this from more than one source, and they say its going to happen this week.

At this point, a UTSA coach said, the Roadrunners already have begun to plan on moving.

“Everybody knows it’s going to be the WAC, it’s just the ‘whats’ and ‘whens’ (we don’t know),” the coach said.

Those thoughts were echoed by a member of the athletic department of a current WAC member, who said, “The only thing I’ve been told is that UTSA has been officially invited. It’s just a question of, are they (publicly) invited or accepted on the same day.”

The last I heard, and Dan McCarney from the SA-EN reported it, was that the University of Texas Board of Regents and attorneys were preparing their rubber stamps to give UTSA the proper documentation to make their entrance into the WAC.

And as Panama [and TT] have indicated, there is an umpcoming event to give a presentation tomorrow night on campus.

Announcement is scheduled for Thursday, November 11th. Both UTSA and Texas State will be making their public acceptance of WAC membership.
