Some kind of ankle injury, no word on how serious.

This officiating crew can't seem to get their heads out of their asses. I've never seen such a mess of blown calls and poor interpretations of calls.

'Nova's RB comes out with a killer run, then fumbles when he's in the clear, Penn ball.

4th and inches and Penn converts. 'Nova is showing a lot more talent in this game, but VUCats is right - Penn is playing balls to the wall, and 'Nova is making stupid mistakes.

This game amazes me every year. Nova is a much better team than Penn, but for some reason Nova cannot seem to get away from them. Mark my words, even if Penn wins this game, they'll go on to lose in the Ivy league, to a team which is far inferior to Nova and the CAA. But yet, for some reason the Quakers are in the heads of the Nova team.

Nova is in the right position to win this now, all they have to do is not fumble and run the clock down until they can score a TD or FG not leaving Penn's slow offense time to counter. Penn may lead, but unless Nova makes a big mistake, this is their game.

The Villanova announcer sounds like he gets pretty moody during the games. When the two point conversion was called "no good", he basically told the listening audience that he was taking his ball and going home. Very pouty. Haha.

A 'Nova loss would have shaken up the polls a bit, but the toughest part of their schedule, with JMU, Richmond, UNH, and Delaware, is still ahead of them.

Look for the polls next week to keep 'Nova in 1st, and some arrangement of JMU, Delaware, and UMass 2nd - 4th.

UPenn played their hearts out and deserved to win that game. Nova dodged a complete bullet. That UPenn defense just might be the best (other than Temple) defense we will play all year. I don't think Szczur's injury was too serious - he was walking around with a lot of confidence motivating his teammates on the sidelines.

I think you'll also have to mix App. St and SFA in that group to complete a top 6 because I don't think it will be CAA 1 through 4 but agree that 4 of the top 6 will be CAA.

Penn always plays us tough. That might have been the worst game I've seen us play since Burroughs was starting. I'll take the win and hopefully Andy will knock the snot out of them during practive this week. Too many stupid penalties, mistakes, **** talking, etc.

True, I forgot about ASU, they could mix it up a bit. SFA might show up, but they shouldn't. If they somehow end up in the playoffs they will be gone after the first round.

When we meet again next year, it will mark 100 years since Penn has beaten us. Granted, we didn't play between 1911 (their last victory) and 1980, but still...

I read somewhere that Talley said Szczur will play against william and mary next week. However, we lost senior linebacker anthony johnson for 4-6 weeks. The injuries on defense just keep piling up.

Hey stop stealing the Lehigh line. That's what they always say after they get beat. (I've never known anyone who worked for a Lehigh grad.)

I first heard that cheer at a Drake game. Team was beat up by a scholarship school. "That's alright, that's okay, you'll all work for us one day." Have a good weekend.

P.S. I like the helmet.

Back in the '03 NC game there were some particularly obnoxious 'Gate fans holding up signs with something to the effect of 'Beat the Safety School'. Strangely enough by the end of the first quarter they got a lot quieter...

After the opposing team from State U. wins, the traditional chant goes like this:

"That's all right!
That's okay!
You're gonna work for us some day!"

Our cheerleaders are required to know this before they are permitted on the field. xnodx
Rumor is that it was first used by Swarthmore College way back when.
