Someone was watching Holy Cross game film last week. UMass goes for the onside kick and gets it easy. Holy Cross players were running back 5 yards before the ball was even kicked.

Pains me to see this having gone to so many cross games from 86 to 96. When cross by far the best team in the area then sad. Could also be that umass scares me!!!!

This is misreable...if ever there was a weekend that showed how much the PL needs scholarships, it was this one.

Holy Cross blocks punt and scores TD on next play. Score 31-7. Although it looks like this game is over, don't give up on HC for the season. They certainly won't give up on themselves. I still think they'll win the league and possibly make noise in the playoffs. I know you might question that, but check back with me in about 10 weeks...

I really like what I have seen from this team in two weeks. We look like a real solid team. Glad to see 16,300 fans at the game today as well. Just 700 short of a sell out. We held the "high powered" Holy Cross offense to just 213 yards after putting up 525 on offense our self. I think this game may show a few more doubters that we are legit.

The past two years, UMass had a habit of occasionally losing a game they "should" have won... What I've seen so far (just two games) is an attitude from the squad that is positive, like coming from behind last week in a game they weren't suppose to win...to just plain dominating, like this week against HC... If they keep the attitude positive in all phases of the game in the weeks to come...this team can go far...

Only if Emery Zach keeps predicting we lose!

My #1 comment on both of our games is about how much better shape our UMass guys seemed to be in versus the opponents. We have played on two quite warm days for football. Bill&Mary lasted through about three quarters before heaving on the field. HC started losing a step in the second quarter after playing us straight up on both O & D for maybe twenty minutes.

That's what it looked like from my seat. Anyone?

What happened in the second half? I had to go to dinner. Did we pull all our starters?

Actually UMass didn't pull their starters...until late in the 4th anyway. That's not to say they had the motivation they had in the 1st half though. Holy Cross seemed to settle down but the horse was long gone from the barn at that point.

They didn't pull the starters but I'm sure they also didn't do anything special to show future teams. Also their focus was lost and the flags proved it
