The 2009-10 season was the most successful season in SFA athletics history as the Ladyjacks and Lumberjacks dominated the league to win the 2010 Southland Conference Commissioner's Cup. SFA was so dominant in both men's and women's athletics that they swept all three all-sports trophies (men's, women's and combined) becoming only the second league school to accomplish that since the creation of the award, and the first since the 1998-99 season.
