With the completion of work at App State and Richmond, have any schools announced new stadium projects beginning in 2011?

Meanwhile, over in I-A, TCU will renovate the older half of its stadium for $105 million, with the bill paid for by just 34 donors.

Funding was secured and the Albany stadium has gone out to bid for Phase I (albeit a scaled down Phase I from this video - now to be ~6,000 seats in Phase I).

Estimated completion date is ready for the 2012 season. So I guess that qualifies for a 2011 stadium project right? Construction in 2011.

It looks like TCU is trying to get into the Big XII's good graces with that project.

The Fargodome at NDSU is getting a new lighting system for 2011. $650,000 cost. I don't know when new turf will arrive. We may be the last organized football team in the US to play on the old stuff.

Well JMU will continue construction on Bridgeforth Stadium next offseason, completing the bottom of the lower deck, and constructing the upper deck. Should be interesting to see.

We're building a whole 15,000 seat stadium from scratch. We break ground in Spring 2011.

Good food is important. Sure our stadium will be full of Bojangles like Halton Arena. Wish they offered the breakfast biscuit sandwiches and BoBerry Buscuits too.

The thing that stands out about Charlotte's new stadium is how much room they're leaving for expansion. The initial 15k seats looks like nothing in the facilities overall footprint.

McNeese is tripling the size of the fieldhouse this year. Should be done in June 2011....it's going to change the way the north end of the stadium looks pretty dramatically, and it'll change the accoustics pretty significantly too...you can't tell from this picture, but we've got some structures at the south end of the stadium that bounce the sound around pretty good, now the north end will be more or less closed in.

It'll be a lot louder, in my opinion....

Texas State should be starting the north endzone (bowling it in) after the season is over.

It looks like TCU is trying to get into the Big XII's good graces with that project.

TCU's renovations are being driven by the desire to increase revenue. They're actually reducing capacity of the current stadium, but adding suites for those donors. It makes sense given the general inability to sell out the stadium, even with their recent success. The Big XII is almost a non-factor at this point, unless they for some reason decide to expand back to 12 at some point. Life's pretty good in the Mountain West, and even then, they're positioning themselves well for when the seemingly inevitable all-out reshuffling takes place

As for the actual thread, I don't think Colgate is looking at any changes in the near future. There have been persistent rumors of a new hockey-basketball complex for several years, but so far it's generally nothing more than that. Andy Kerr has gotten a few changes in the last decade (press box, scoreboard, turf, lights), so it's probably low on the priority list right now

Sure that area will include kiosks for food and merchandise on gameday. Hope they get creative with that area. The Football Center has a deck on it too.

NDSU is doing some upgrading at the Fargodome.
And is spending 32 million on an athletic upgrade geared towards basketball and track.

The seats they're getting rid of are in one the steepest upper decks in college football. If the wind is blowing, it's a bitter place to watch a game.

Can't say I've ever sat up there, though if you think that's bitter, you've been in the Metroplex too long xlolx

Or maybe it's just because I spent four years going to games in Hamilton... ;)

Elon broke ground over the summer on our New Field House which will enclose the north endzone. Progress has been made but the facility will not open until December. It looks like from the construction cam http://www.elon.edu/e-web/athletics/constructioncam.xhtml that the exterior will be finished by the first home game. This will really close in the stadium and make it even louder.

Lehigh's Goodman Stadium could use a new scoreboard and sound system but there's been no rumors about that coming about. The scoreboard issue really needs to be taken care off.

Not just cold weather--it was just a poor place to watch a game anytime the elements were in play. A much higher angle to the seats than most, because they didn't have room to build support behind the stadium:

Six years later and things are still the same. As a whole, Goodman remains one of the best facilities in the Northeast. However, it does need to bring a couple things like the scoreboard and sound system up to date.

Correct. Our home side lower level section will be completed, upper deck, suite level and the temp bleachers in the endzone will be permanent seating connected to the home side. The visitor section will remain until funding/need arises.

This season will also have semi temp concession stands until those areas are fully completed for 2011.

Current timeline for during the season and immediately following our final home game in November:

There are other fan galleries but here is the one from the JMU website showing what was completed this year:

At A&T, Aggie Stadium just had its Video Scoreboard repainted and will have the current press box replaced with a bigger, even better one with Luxury Suites and possibly upgrading some of the reserve seating with seat backs.

This is the thread on the www.bluedeathvalley.com message board about this addition: http://bluedeathvalley.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=5715

The Current plan is for it to begin at the end of the current season and is planned to be completed by the start of the 2011 Football Season.

At Murray State, there are no upcoming projects regarding Roy Stewart Stadium or the RSEC but the Basketball Court in the RSEC is getting stripped down and re painted. That floor went through a lot last season.

This spring we are destroying our old hockey arena and replacing it with an indoor track and football practice facility next to Memorial Stadium. (So hopefully when our lease with the Alerus runs out in 2019 we can move back outdoors to a new renovated Memorial Stadium.)

Lehigh did do some work to its press box this summer, but really need to look into a video board and upgrade their locker rooms like they did in Easton. A recruit really likes flashy electronics and luxury locker rooms. Maybe in the works soon for you guys.
