According to this newspaper out of Oklahoma, SHSU is adding a kid that was the #31 best athlete in the nation in 2008 per Rivals. Seems like he would have four years of eligibility remaining...

TIMOTHY FLANDERS, MIDWEST CITY, OKLA.

Rated the 31st-best athlete in the nation and the No. 9 player in the state of Oklahoma by Rivals... Rushed for 5,143 yards and 65 touchdowns throughout his high school career, including 2,153 yards and 34 touchdowns during his senior season... Also recorded 231 receiving yards with four touchdowns throughout his career... Rushed for 1,604 yards and 20 scores as a junior.

Simply put no player in Oklahoma has had a better senior season than Midwest City's latest superstar. Flanders has made his biggest impact as a running back but there is a lot of thought that his brightest future may be at safety. Flanders imposing frame and ferocious playing style lends itself well to the defensive side of the ball. Now that being said, Flanders' greatest asset is that he can play well and excel at both, so he is a player that will garner plenty of recruiting attention due to schools being able to recruit him and allow him to play himself into his position.

We previously added a running back from La Tech...

Guess WF saw a need at running back and got a pair of FBS transfers who had a bit of experience at that level to help us. All of our running backs have three or four years of experience...

We have added a few impact transfers. Hopefully they will ease the pain of this first year under Fritz.

The biggest questions surround the skill positions on the offensive side of the ball...

Not too worried about the defense, since they were young ones last year and they will only improve. A few transfers there, but the big problem is offensively...

We need several players to step up in order to be successful. If the K-State and La Tech kids play to the #1 and #2 spots on the depth chart, more power to them...

Will Rollison emerge as the starter? I just never felt comfortable with Randolph. Would love to redshirt Bell and have him come back as the back-up QB in '11.

And WR has a few JUCO/FBS transfers...

The La Tech RB may bring some experience but this new one was a redshirt last year so he is not going bring much in that regard.

I hate when people point to Rivals rankings for some guy from 2 or 3 years ago.

Still has a lot more than most of our running backs, who are true freshmen. He's experienced the rigors of practice and two-a-days.
