Battle of the Piney Woods has long history

A new chapter in the “Battle of the Piney Woods” football rivalry begins Saturday, Oct. 23 when Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin meet at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

Since its birth in 1923, the annual gridiron grudge match between the Bearkats and the Lumberjacks has been something special.

Well, that's a interesting way of looking at the series. Shs won six of the thirteen games? Doesn't that mean SFA won seven? I guess that's like the old story where, in a two man race, SFA finished next to last while shs finished second.xnodx
