The UMass quarterback Octavious Hawkins gets absolutely drilled by linebacker Tyler Holmes on a play that involves a little trickery in the 2010 UMass Spring Game...

Did linebacker realize kid is a quarterback on his team? Great hit but---it was the quarterback on his team...

We do not train to be merciful here. Mercy is for the weak.

Fear does not exist in the dojo. Pain does not exist in this dojo. Defeat does not exist in this dojo.

Better have plenty of disciples in line if the starting QB keeps taking hits like those......

Rub some dirt, err-, field turf granules in it. All better.

Good clean hit! Probably not much harm done.

That's probably why a lot of teams don't run too many trick plays in scrimmages, the linebacker probably lost track of the quarterback and didn't realize who he hit until the play was over.

That's why the Qbs are supposed to wear the red jerseys----unless they are live. PS to coaches....Qbs are not built like nor can they take hits like most Linebackers.

If you score, you may win...If they never score, you will never lose...defense wins championships.

Who runs a trick play in the spring game? Not exactly UMass's O-Coordinator's "one shinning moment!"
