Does NDSU pay guarantees for home games?

And how does someone get from Washington (or Dallas) to Fargo in late October?

NDB
March 18th, 2010, 01:41 PM
NDSU certainly pays.

For a game scheduled this late, I'm sure we are paying well (150+?).

No direct flights from DCA or DFW. But we've got great United and Delta service.

Stage coach. I hear it's good for the digestion.

Depends younger classes are very talented, but we have a lack of talent in the upper classmen.

You may see alot of transfers in our upperclassmen as the younger kids will probably beat them out for starting/backup positions. Only time will telll.

If i remeber correctly we have some T fr expected to play. Thats not a very common thing round here. :P

Yes they pay guarntees

United - Dailys from Chicago and Denver
Delta - Dailys from Minneapolis and Salt Lake City
American - Daily from Chicago

These are the Primary there is also Allegiant which has non-stops to Las Vegas, Orlando, Los Angeles and Phoenix, but run to each city twice a week.

there is talk about American adding a direct to Dallas-Ft. Worth in the fall already, along with also the possibilty of the DC area, so it could be in place by Oct.

They will have a very good O-line, but they desperately need a speed infusion if they are going to compete for the MVC title. They have a decent chance of climbing back up to the middle of the pack, but they're going to need a pushover for their open date..

We won't lose to middle pack Missouri St or Illinois St this year.

As usual, it comes down to beating SDSU, SIU or UNI for a chance at an at-large bid.

Although IMO, the MVFC deserves 4 teams in every year in a 20 team bracket.

Just out of curiosity . . . if the MVFC deserves four (of twenty) teams in the playoffs, which conferences then become less deserving? Why so?

What 4 would you have picked last year? SDSU sure didn't represent, SIU was a little disappointing thought they were going to go deeper, after that there wasn't much to brag about

You are all forgetting that Illinois State is winning the Valley this year. And I would say the Valley is deserving of at least 3 if not 4 bids in a 20 team field each year.

Early prediction for Valley bids:

Illinois State
Southern Illinois
Northern Iowa

South Dakota State (potentially if we can manage 4 somehow)

I think it changes year to year. There are years that Mo Valley has deserved 3 or 4 and there are years that 2 is all they deserved.

Both the MVFC and CAA are far above the Big Sky, that seems like a fair equation.

Oh and I had to go back to 2005 to get a non-Montana Big Sky team vs a MVFC or CAA team in the playoffs, E Wash lost to Northern Iowa first round.

Why? Look at the playoff results past the first round over the last decade:

Quarter-Final Appearances: CAA(25), MVFC(16), SoCon(15), BSC(12)
Semi-Final Appearances: CAA(12), SoCon (11), BSC(6), MVFC(6)
Championship Appearances: CAA(6), BSC(5), SoCon(5), MVFC(2)
National Championships: CAA(4), SoCon(4), BSC(1), MVFC(1)

Take off the one championship and one of two championship appearances due to WKU no longer being a member, and it looks like the MVFC is easily the 4th best conference in terms of playoff success.

But taking into account NDSU and SDSU are top 25 programs, that number should be going up.

We are???

Don't be obtuse. A couple "down" seasons (by our high standards) does not take away from having a top 10 average attendance and football budget.

We are guaranteed to be back to the playoffs. If Bohl can't get us there, then we'll just hire away some other successful FCS coach who will. We're too big and too rich (in the world of FCS) to stay stagnated at the middle of the pack.

You and everyone else knows it's just a matter of time.

Not many programs can say that in the FCS, but we're one of them.

3-8 is down by everyones standard. Especially when two of the wins came over Wagner and Indiana State.

WTF does attendance have to do with you saying we are a top 25 team? I won't question your Love for NDSU, but you also have to be real about it.

WE ARE NOT a top 25 team, we were and yes I expect us to be there again but they will have to earn it just like everyone else.

NDSU certainly pays.

For a game scheduled this late, I'm sure we are paying well (150+?).

Implying they could pay more than $150,000 is exaggerating, don't you think? A last minute hookup with a non-draw like Georgetown won't produce a big payday.

Acutal travel expenses...maybe a paycheck for $100,000 if NDSU was feeling generous. xtwocentsx

Whatever. You know exactly what I'm saying and you're being a typical NDSU fan on AGS: falling over yourself to sandbag.
