Posters on LeatherneckNation say this story is 100% true. What a way to treat a really great guy who was also a fine coach. This will kill our recruiting as we will be a laughingstock. Other coaches will use this against us. Kids would have to wonder who they would be playing for. What kid wants to attend a university that treats a coach this way? I suspect it will be a long time, if ever, that WIU gets back to any prominence in FCS football. Hopefully our AD is asked to resign as soon as possible.

As a Quincy native, I chuckled the moment I clicked the link and realized Channel 10 actually had a website much less the guts to run with this story. Big time kudos to the WGEM brass ... you have come a long way.

That sure does seem like a mess. Did the coach say anything publicly at the time? If not, I would question why not. If so, did it make much news over there? Very weird.
