So a BS interference call on third down keeps the ISU drive going, and a BS late hit call moves back UM's current drive. Pretty much the story so far. Tied at 3 at end of 1st quarter.

Don't forget the blown call on the fumble

Their announcers are terrible. I have the b2tv feed and the KPAX feed both running, with the b2tv volume way down. After every positive play for UM, I mute the KPAX feed and listen to the ISU announcers whine and complain.

To 'neers80, the reason I said that they are going to be a force next year is that they have some sparks going on with some of their players.
I did not say that they are going to win the conference, they are going to be a force. They have taken the leaders in the conference to the limit but have not been able to finish the task. There top playmakers (and I could be wrong on this) seem to be mostly underclassmen.

Long Bus trip
Bad field...small crowd
The team didn't run out fired up to play...uderstandable
Jared Allen whipping the ISU team to a frenzy before the game
Bad coaching calls thinking the team will score points any minute now and overcome the bad decisions.

It will be different the next two games.

We were going to, it wasn't the line's fault, the QB botched the exchange.

On that play yes, but what about the play before that one and at the end of the game? ISU got great penetration to stuff Chase and make the Griz go for the FG....I realize the other guys are playing hard too but those boys need to get a push

Well in their defense that was a very quick run play. I personally expected a spike, and it looked like some of them did too.

Highlights missing: After the big hit on the ISU WR, the next play shown is a QB scramble. The next play (3rd down) was actually a BS PI callxnonono2x. Also, there was a punt return TD by Mariani that was called back due to a STUPID block in the back that was behind the runner.

Montana is #1, they are undefeated, but I don't think they are the best team in the country. There are several teams that could win it all this year. Best thing is that we get to find out in December.

With that logic, you could vote Butler No. 1.

That's funny that you compare Montana's schedule to Butler's. You clearly put a lot of thought and research into your posts xthumbsupx

My thoughts from that game:

1) ISU needs to get a different field, that thing is horrible. That broken leg happened right in front of me and it was an ugly, ugly injury. I hate to see anyone hurt like that, period. I was yelling at their sidelines to get that crap replaced, but I think it will fall on deaf ears, they don't care if their own players have season or career ending injuries. xshakingmadx

2) The Griz played terrible. Not much else to say.

3) Our QB play was especially bad. Take for instance, almost every first down would put Mariani in single man coverage, no help over the top at all and we would run the ball. Not once did we try and throw him the ball with that setup. xnonono2x I like his chances one on one, no safety help.

4) I won't go into to many specifics as to the officiating, it was terrible as well. I will take one specific one that hasn't been mentioned. ISU threw a pass to #1 and the defender was closing to make the tackle and got blocked in the back into the receiver and hit him pretty hard. There was no flag called and it was pretty blatant. The officiating didn't almost loose this game for us, but it was as bad of a game as I have seen called. 22 flags on the field is way too many.

5) The Better team did win, but made it look ugly. ISU played hard and I feel bad for them, they have to play in such a crappy arena, it just terrible. I hope to never go back there again. I wouldn't wish having to play there even on a team I hate.

6) If the Griz play this way again, no one will have to worry about if we should be #1 or not. You don't play that bad and win very many times.

7) Hauck should have kicked the field goal on 3rd down with 9 seconds. It came across to me as trying to get style points and make the win look better. It nearly cost them the game.

8) The Griz do find a way to win, but my heart can't take many more like that. xnonox xcoffeex

Good recap

The paper today said the winning kick was down the middle. Not true, it was just inside the right upright.
Normal for the day

The most excrutiating, frustrating, miserable performance I have ever witnessed from the Griz, we deserved to lose, and didn't. Having said that, all the good feelings from last week were more than washed away... The Griz need to quit playing to the level of their competition, and get some fire in their bellies and prepare for the brutal upcoming playoffs.

Isn't ISU where Bagley broke his arm a couple of years ago. I swear, every time I watch a game there someone gets serioulsy injured.

Yep. xsmhx Maybe a disgusting fracture on one of ISU's own players will get the picture across a little more clearly. xnonono2x
