No real changes to the starting lineup this week for Colgate. As close to full-strength as we've been all season

This is a rematch of last year's unofficial Patriot League championship game from up in Hamilton. Colgate squeezed past the Cross 28-27 to win their 6th League title. The Crusaders won the last meeting in Worcester, 27-20 in 2007

Today is also the first meeting between ranked Patriot League teams in 5 years. Colgate is #17 in both the Sports Network and Coaches polls, while Holy Cross sits at #22

Nate Eachus currently sits 18th on the all-time rushing list for Colgate. He is 273 yards away from 17th place

Nice article in the Syracuse paper about LB Greg Hadley's interest in both football and painting (http://blog.syracuse.com/sports/2009/10/colgate_linebacker_greg_hadley.html)

We're a bit lucky to be within 2 touchdowns, but I'll take it at the moment. Lots of McCord running the ball, and he is having less of a push than Eachus. HC defense is hitting hard, doing a good job overall

Defense is having a rough day so far. Randolph has not been under any pressure, and is counting off his options. If the front 7 can't get pressure on Dom, he'll continue to pick the secondary apart. Big return given up after the score was a huge blow, kickoff coverage continues to be a breath-holding experience

Signs for optimism: we get the ball, it's only a 2-score game, and we've done very well in making 2nd half adjustments

Randolph was the difference. Phenomenal game. I'd like to say we could have done better with more pressure from the line, but Randolph was on-target all day. Honestly, I have no idea how he threw 3 picks. Otherwise, simply amazing. Our defense was just a step behind all game long. Some poor kick coverage at inopportune moments gave the Crusaders more room than they needed to work with, and they appropriately took advantage

Offense had a tough go of it, good job defensively by the Crusader line to slow down the rushing attack. They never gave up, which is always good to see, but trying to win a shootout with Holy Cross was a big hill to climb, and playing from behind hurt all day long

Congratulations Holy Cross, a well-deserved victory

Now, that Randolph kid graduates after this year, right? ;)

Would be good to see Colgate finish the season strong, gut out a few more, hope Holy Cross stumbles and get a share of the title. That being said, Holy Cross' offense (Randolph) can hang with anyone as long as they don't beat themselves. It would be nice to see a Patriot League team make a little noise in the playoffs. Holy Cross really seems like a team that could do it. As much as it hurts to watch Colgate lose, you can't help but appreciate how good Randolph is.

Well said. And the Cross defense did a very good job against the Colgate running game.

Colgate radio said that Randolph is a leading candidate for the Walter Payton Award. I certainly agree. I can't imagine anybody in FCS - including Armani Edwards - who is any better.

Congrats to HC. Dom was as advertised. Despite losing you've got to admire the talent this guy has on the gridiron. If they go all the way, we have a good rep from ther PL for the playoffs.

'Gate just couldn't keep up with them today. Once we fell behind in the shootout it was all over. But good effort just the same.

We are going to need some help from LC or the Rams if we are to have a chance to win or tie for the title....xrolleyesx

Gotta focus on Lehigh now; take it game by game.
