GDubb was the first to score when they marched the ball down the field on the opening possession led primarily by the rushing attack of Jr. Patrick Hall. A 12 play, 6:22 minutes long drive that culminated with a 2 yd run by Hall for the TD. GW later took advantage of a Marty Patterson [8 tackles] interception that the O turned into a Ryan Gates 26 yd field goal for a 10-0 lead before Charleston Southern got their offense going.

Chas. Sou. took advantage of a long pass into double coverage that set up their first score of the game, a 37 yd field goal from John Paglia. CS's D bowed up on GW's following possesion and 3 and outed GW's O for the first time of the game. Inspired by the D, CS's put together a solid 16 play, 84 yd drive that ended wiht CS's first TD of the day. The half ended a few seconds later and the halftime score was GW 10 - CS 10.

After an exchange of field goals in the 3rd quarter, another GW game came down to the 4th quarter.

For the year, GW can truly say that the 4th quarter is ours as the Runnin' Bulldogs have now executed come from behind wins in the 4th Q against W. Carolina, VMI, and Charleston Southern. This game, Patrick Hall and the O line led the way to victory. GW kicked off the 4th quarter with a 21 yd run from Patrick Hall to go ahead 20-13. The 4th quarter was marred when CS lost a D lineman [Nate Kearse #76] to a broken lower leg. I'm sure all GW fans are praying for his speedy recovery. Seeking to lift up their fallen teammate, the Bucs put together a 6+ minutes drive for a TD to tie the game with 2 minutes left to play. GW got the ball on their 22 yd line following the kickoff and had 1:50 left to put together the go ahead score. QB Stan Doolittle led an impressive drive where the ultimate score was never in doubt. During the 9 play drive, GW did not have a 3rd down conversion as all first downs came on 1st or 2nd down. The drive ended when Patrick Hall charged into the end zone from the 16 yd line for the go ahead score with 0:22 left to play. CS was unable to score and the final score was GW 27 - CS20.

Patrick Hall put his name in the hat for Big South Offensive Player of the Week as he rushed for a career high 118 yards and three touchdowns, including a 16-yard scoring dash with 22 seconds left to power the ‘Dogs (4-2, 2-0) to their second league win without a loss this season.

It was a great game and excitimg to watch. One thing GW needs to do is stop letting opportunities get away from them. We had another touchdown dropped. Also, we need to loose that corner pass inside the red zone. Just not working. They did a good job, nice to see the running game getting started.

As predicted, Patrick Hall was honored with the Stony Brook QB as Big South Co-Offensive players of the week. Congratulations to Patrick and to his O line who paved the way for him on Saturday.

Go Runnin' Bulldogs!
