MUNCIE, IND. -- The ninth-ranked University of New Hampshire football team, led by strong defense and the running of junior running back Sean Jellison, posted 23-16 victory over Ball State, 23-16 at Scheumann Stadium Saturday night.

It was UNH's fifth straight victory over an FBS opponent, as the Wildcats defeated Army in 2008, Marshall in 2007, Northwestern in 2006 and Rutgers in 2004. xnodx

UNPRECEDENTED!!!! Way to go Wildcats!!!

Well, you got to give Ball State some credit. Getting 16 points out of 127 total yards of offense is pretty impressive. xlolx

Wasn't Miquale Lewis being touted as one of the top 5 backs in the country by ESPN? He had 14 carries for 21 of their 13 yards rushing. xoopsx

The UNH defense was outstanding!

The Ball State offense only had 27 yards on 24 plays in the first half. They only had 58 yards through the first three quarters.

The UNH D had 5 sacks and was chasing the Ball State QB all night. They also had a safety.

Check out the doom and gloom that's going on in Muncie right here:

If the defense plays like the all year...well I think they will be playing for a long time!

Jackson back at LB made a huge impact! Toman was closer to the play we expected & need. Jellison will keep carries even when Kackert returns. Is Joey Orlando our new go to WR? Still need to get the ball to Sicko--he's got to be our clutch receiver. A fantastic ROAD win. Way to go CATS!!!

Impressive indeed. Pitt next year? I know these games are scheduled years in advance but do those FBS schools not do their research?

No, I don't think there are any other teams that have that sort of record against FBS opponents this decade. But there are a number of teams that have had just as much success or more and UNH in FCS competition.

I do have to hand it to the UNH administration for their skillful scheduling of FBS teams that are having down years the season that they play UNH (4-7, 4-8, 3-9, 3-9).
That being said, it still takes a good gameplan and execution to beat an FBS team, even a lower level one.

Hats off to New Hampshire.

I went scope the Ball State message board to see their reaction, and it was predictable with the ignorant people bemoaning losing to a "D-II" team. They're not informed. However, I must shake my finger at the Wildcat poster that went on there sinking to their level.

You've been there before, act like it.

Otherwise, congrats Wildcats.

The Ball State game was signed in late 2008. UNH Plays it smart when scheduling games. We are playing Pitt in 2011 for one reason! Tomans Sr year this team has a chance for real greatness next year. I bet out 2012 game will be against another lower level FBS team. Thumbs up to the UNH Athletic Director

Yep, 2010 at Pitt, 2012 at Minnesota and 2014 at Chestnut Hill. AFAIK, nothing inked yet for 2011 or 2013.
