Handful of lineup changes today for the Raiders. As you may have heard, Nate Eachus is out for this game. His replacement is Senior Mark Colon with Soph. Jordan McCord (who started the SB game last year) as the backup on the 2-deep. TE Adrien Schriefer is also out, he suffered a knee injury against Monmouth. Junior Nick Cvetic starts in his place

Some career milestones in sight today:
QB Greg Sullivan needs 19 rushing yards for 1,000 in his career
WR Pat Simonds needs 10 receiving yards for 5th place in school history

It's nice to have a lead at the half, but the fact is Colgate outplayed Stony Brook in the 1st half, and only has a 4 point lead to show for it. Too many missed opportunities by the Raiders. Nice to see that the defense has played fairly well so far (178 total yards allowed, with 55 coming on the last 2 completions), but they'll have to step up in the 2nd Half again this week

TheValleyRaider
September 12th, 2009, 06:42 PM

Huge 2nd Half by the Defense. They gave up 113 yards to Stony Brook, giving up no points and grabbing 2 picks, and 3 sacks. Much maligned last year, they earned plenty of respect tonight

Sullivan continues to be a gamer, making big plays when he needs to, and took some big hits along the way. Simonds with 2 TD catches, what else can you say about the man?

First 2-0 start since 2003 :D

On to Hanover xnodx

Nice win for the 'gate today. Stony Brook isn't a great squad but they have a solid running game and I thought they might have a chance with Eachus out. This could be the start to a very nice season.
