First off I would like to thank the Admins over here at AGS for activating my membership. I don't know how often I'll be over here, but I look forward to being able to participate.

Now to the subject of this post: As some of you may know ESPN is doing a special series on Coach Bill Curry as he builds the Georgia State football program. One of the recent articles included a video interviewing the defensive and offensive coordinators, as well as an article. Included in the article was this picture:

Source: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4206161

If you'll notice there is a proposed schedule on that board with what looks to be some finalized games. We've already speculated on our board as to whom those schools maybe (see starting at: http://www.caazone.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=1273473#p1273473 ). But we would like to know if you guys could help us make some of them out, and perhaps fill in the holes? Also, have you guys heard anything about Georgia State being on any of your future schedules?

Thanks,
GA St. MBB Fan aka GSU Mens BB Fan

I see UTSA listed under 2012, the last school at the bottom.

The same story is also in the most recently printed ESPN magazine and the names are more legible in that photo. Unfortunately my copy got lifted (by my son) and i have no clue where it is. Anyone else have the mag?

That home and home with ODU will hopefully start a fledgling rivalry that carries over into CAA play. It's going to be fun watching these two teams come up, though I expect Ga St to be in and out of the CAA rather quickly due to travel. Flying a football team is a lot more expensive than flying a basketball team.

I have it at home. I'll have to check it out tonight.

I would venture that:

(1) UCA is NOT on that board and;

(2) John Thompson never coaches a game at Ga. St.

By any chance could that be "HC Guilford" ? Homecoming vs Guilford ?

on second thought, it might be NC Central

I kind of see that. But I'm not sure it would be up to the coaches to decide the Homecoming game - maybe the alumni association? So that leans me to think that it could be NC Central...but then again my eyes could be playing tricks on me.

I guess I should have been a little clearer...the real GSU....that would put the game in Atlanta. xpeacex

I've heard rumbling of G-Webb doing a home and home with Georgia State starting down there in 2010. Problems with this theory:

We already have two road games in Texas (Sam Houston and Lamar) for 2010, as well as a trip to Old Dominion. Add in a return home game from at WCU this year and six conference games, that leaves one slot open to get to 11 games, and I would tend to think that would be a FBS road game for cash.

If they ever get around to playing each other, it'll rank up there with Michigan/Ohio State and Alabama/Auburn in terms of a heated rivalry.

Two schools, same state, same letter abbreviations, both vying to be the #3 school in the state university system after Georgia and Georgia Tech.

It could get ugly. xeekx
