Once a rivals 3-star QB from Colorado, Clint Brewster signed with U of Minnesota and was redshirted. Then, he played last year at a Calif. Ju-Co.

TTU will have a 3 - year starter at QB returning (former OVC Freshman of the Year and U of Louisville transfer, Lee Sweeney), so the competition should be interesting.

The QB is the son of current U of Minnesota head coach, Tim Brewster. Interesting.

The QB is the son of current U of Minnesota head coach, Tim Brewster. Interesting.

Tim Brewster gave his son every chance to beat out Adam Webber in Minnesota, but it never happened. To his credit, he picked the best available player to start and Webber is believed to possess NFL talent. Some think Colorado's program is being held back because Dan Hawkins starts his marginally talented/vertically challenged son, Cody, at quarterback.

Mack Brown and Tim Brewster are very tight. Which is why Tim's younger son, Nolan Brewster, a ex-5 star recruit, picked Texas over Minnesota. So it's no surprise that Brewster would end up playing for Watson Brown.

I'm not sure if he'll beat out the incumbant QB, but we shall see. Thanks, Smendy...

Transfer QBs aren't the way to go. xnonono2x See, you have to build a program around your own recruits. Transfers make everyone else on the team quit and no one will ever come to your school for recruiting visits. It'll be the downfall of your program. Mark my words. Players will look at your school and say, those guys only get transfer QBs that turn into NFL picks. I don't want to go to that dreadful place. xsmiley_wix

TTU Football adds Colorado quarterback Brewster

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A quarterback who originally signed with the University of Minnesota, then played last year at a junior college in California, Clint Brewster will join the Tennessee Tech roster in July, third-year head coach Watson Brown announced this week.

A highly recruited quarterback during his high school career at Denver High Reed, Brewster will enroll at Tech this summer and be eligible immediately this fall with three seasons remaining. Brown said the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Brewster will be in the mix for the starting role at quarterback when the Golden Eagles open fall camp.
