Is this upcoming season (2009) the year where the playoffs are expanded to 18 and the NEC has an autobid, or is that next year (2010)?? Also, which season will be the first where the playoffs are expanded to 20 teams and 10 autobids?? Thanks in advance.

The playoffs expand in 2010 to 20 teams.

This is the "bridge" year for the NEC in which they have to reach several qualifications to "earn" an automatic bid. They will get their AQ in 2010.
