This kid really was quite good at UO. Never fit in given the spread offense there but he's a dang good pro style QB. Played fantastic in the Sun Bowl against USF and this spring as well.

There are plenty of transfer haters here that would have to eat some serious crow if he ends up at their school. xwhistlex

Roper is from Georgia and there is some scuttlebutt that he may end up in the SoCon. He expressed a desire to be closer to home.

Also, along the same topic, there is rumors that former Duck receiver Pflugrad may end up at Portland State. Pflugrad also had a great spring game for the Ducks, but left the program soon after. His dad played for Portland State in the late 70's when Mouse Davis was the coach. Davis is now OC at Portland State.

I highly doubt that Pflugard will go to Portland State. His dad, the former receiver coach at Oregon until this winter, was a volunteer helper around spring ball at Montana this spring, and is expected to be named the UM receiver coach when his contract with Oregon ends. His dad was a finalist for the head job at UM when Bobby Hauck got the job. I assume the dad would be in the running again if Hauck left.

The son was recently in Missoula, hanging out a bit with some of the UM players--as was his sister, the cheerleader. Pflugard didn't redshirt, so he could transfer to a I-A and redshirt. Pflugard was born in Missoula, when his dad was a UM assistant.

Well there was also talk of WSU and BSU for Pflugrad so we shall see. Let's be honest though. The WR's under his dads tutelage never really developed. He was let go for a reason. Be careful what you wish for.

I would take Pflugrad as a receivers coach in a heartbeat. Great experience. The son, who would have been a starter in the fall and was 6-107 with 2 TD's in the spring game, left Oregon because his dad got let go--according to press reports.

Coaching Career - 28th year: Wide Receivers, Oregon (2006-present); Assistant Head Coach/Tight Ends/Recruiting Coordinator, Washington State (2001-2005); Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator, Northern Arizona (2001); Wide Receivers/Recruiting Coordinator, Arizona State (1995-2000); Assistant Head Coach/Quarterbacks/Wide Receivers, University of Montana (1991-1994); Wide Receivers/Running Backs, University of Montana (1986-1990); Director of Football Operations, Portland State (1982); Wide Receivers/Tight Ends, Portland State (1983-1985); Wide Recievers, South Eugene High School (1981); Graduate Assistant, Portland State (1980)

FYI… Justin Roper played at Buford HS. The same school as rising Furman Redshirt Sophomore WR David Hendrix. Turns out they were best friends at Buford.

I'm just saying Furman is very close to Buford… 100 miles

Article says Roper wants to be a worship leader, eh? I know of a school where that's actually a major.

He can be a Democrat. He can even join that particular club. He just won't get any money for being a member.
