You gotta realize that Texas State played the top two I-AA rushing offenses, both of which are double wing option teams, plus Texas A&M. They're not giving up anything like 163 per game rushing to "typical" I-AA offenses.

If they are playing in the QTR finals, they wont be facing any "typical" D I-AA offense. Appalachian out rushed an LSU team, and faced Kansas, and too pretty prolific Furman and Georgia Southern offenses, so take them out of the averages and their defense looks pretty solid on paper too.

You gotta realize that Texas State played the top two I-AA rushing offenses, both of which are double wing option teams, plus Texas A&M. They're not giving up anything like 163 per game rushing to "typical" I-AA offenses.

John, I'll take you one step further. Furman faced the #1, 2, and 4 ranked rushing teams in I-AA so using those same parameters, our 173-yards per game shouldn't be too bad.

Stats can be misleading. You can really pad your stats if you played a couple of mid-majors or D-II teams. Strength of schedule plays a big role when comparing stats. Just my two cents.

Only thing that matters is what team plays better on Any Given Saturday.
