Football's Peavler "Walks on" on SIU's... Golf Team

That’s why when he made the Southern Illinois University golf team this year as a walk-on, he considered himself to be the next Dan Ruettiger.
You know Rudy, the guy that walked onto the Notre Dame football team and had a movie made about him.
“I just want to do my part to help this team win,’’ said Peavler of his goals for his only season of collegiate golf. “I don’t have any grand ideas of winning the NCAA title, but I want to play well and be like the Rudy of Notre Dame.’’
