Story Returns to the Sidelines, Joins Elon Staff
Sam Story, who retired after 25 years as the Walter M. Williams High School (Burlington, N.C.) head football coach following the 2007 campaign, will return to the sidelines as a volunteer assistant coach for Elon University. Bringing 39 years of coaching and teaching experience, he will serve the Phoenix as an offensive assistant and will direct the staff’s high school relations efforts.
