SSU close to joining Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
Savannah State’s long wait for conference affiliation could soon be over.
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference lifted a moratorium on expansion last week, according to SSU vice president for administration Claud Flythe. The move clears the way for the presidents of the MEAC’s 12 universities to vote on Savannah State’s membership.
“In the near future, they will vote on who gets in,” Flythe said. “If we are accepted, we would become a full member immediately.”
