Jeez, we beat Lehigh and stir the barn and yet, we barely get into the Top 25 and are not ranked ahead of Lehigh. Whatever... I'm sure Frank will use that for motivation.

Go 'Gate, and Go Pards.

Are people so ignorant that they expect just because they beat a team they will jump from oh i dunno where lafayette woulda been ranked before the game mayby 35-40 and expect to jump a team that was near top 10? God some people are soo....

Can you take a second though to look at where Lafayette is coming from before you make that assumption?

Lafayette has the same record as Lehigh. Beat Lehigh and Richmond. Losses to Colgate, Princeton and Harvard.

Lehigh beat Colgate and Harvard. Losses to Delaware, Lafayette and Holy Cross.

Do you see the problem or no? Lehigh's ranking is solely due to their starting point. Lafayette has put up a better year IMO.

The "problem" is that Lehigh has been overrated all year, people can't get that they are not that good. LC has the best PL resume

my comment was based on a ranking from last week to this week, you cant expect a team who wasnt in the top 25 and who may not have been in the top 35 to jump so high as to pass a team that was 12th the previous week just because they beat them, thats too much movement for one poll

Yeah, the gentleman Colgate13 is right! Look, how do you put LU ahead of LC, which beat them when they have identicals? I don't care about too much movement in one week. What a line of crap! Thx Colgate13!

I still don't understand what was so impressive about Lafayette's season?

They beat Richmond when they really hadn't figured anything out. Richmond is far superior to what they were then. After that, they lost to the next 3 decent teams they played in Princeton, Harvard and Colgate. Those losses were sandwiched around wins over Georgetown and Columbia by 12 points combined! Combined! Then they win a rivalry game against an overrated Lehigh team and that gets them in? It's good for the PL, but it's a joke.

I agree with the first sentance, if those two Ivy teams are Dartmouth and Columbia. Although I'm not convinced Lafayette deserved the bid, I'll save finger pointing until after Saturday's game.

Frankly, Lafayette just can't beat an Ivy League team NOT named Columbia. With that in mind, it's time they took Harvard and Princeton off the schedule. I believe the Leopards are locked in with Harvard for a number of years and Princeton through '07.
I say replace them with Rutgers and Syracuse. I like their odds better against Big East teams! :D

I think it's fair to say that the Ivy had some very good clubs, including Brown, Princeton, Pennsylvania and Harvard. It's short-sighted to simply dismiss victories over them as analogous to a Division III school.

Take a deep breath. After the playoffs, both LC and CU will pass Lehigh is the polls unless you get trounced. Normally, this is the way it shakes. By the way, why the hell do you care. Your one of 16 teams with a chance to win a NC. I would guess that LU would be happy to trade places.

Start acting like league champs rather than whining about meaningless issues like rankings which mean nothing this time of year.

#22,23,24,25--who the heck cares? It's a poll. Just because one wins or loses a game doesn't totally impact one's view of how good a team is comparable to another. Voters also take into account the types of losses one has suffered--blowouts or flukes?down to the wire or domination?
All three: Colgate, Lafayette and Lehigh are so comparable it is senseless to argue. Each beat the other in good competitive games that could go either way if played again. Lehigh's three losses were kind that keep you up at night: the missed pat at Delaware, the immaculate reception in the monsoon by HC, and Lafayette's Hail Mary. Had the opponents dominated LU in those games we wouldn't be ranked. That's what's wrong with polls. Their subjective and influenced by whose ox is being gored. God bless the playoffs.

Hey stoonad... First of all, we were not that low in the human polls in the recieving votes category. In the GPI, yes. And yes I expected to jump a team who was ranked 12 considering three Patriot teams are not usually ranked. I think Lehigh, Fordham, Colgate was the last tiem that happened in 2002 or 2003. I thought Lehigh was going to drop from the top 25 considering that fact, their shocking loss, our recieving votes status, and so many other quality teams out there. I'll stick with hawkineer's assessment.. it will change at the end of the year... it did last year when we went up to 19.

Go 'Gate, Go Pards!

Ha, yeah seriously. Well we play Yale in a home and away starting in 2006, and Penn is back on the schedule in 2007. Princeton comes off in 2008 (sadly, I like playing them in Palmer.. ahem Princeton Stadium).

Why not schedule Buffalo? Colgate embarassed them in 2003. As did Lehigh in 2002. Seriously, that should be a I-AA program.
