This thread has popped up each of the past three years...I'll assume the answer is the same in 1008 that it was in 05, 06, and 07:
It's a coin flip, done at the beginning of the playoffs, to see which side of the bracket is home and which is away.

Appalachian was the "away" team in 2005 and 2006, and the "home" team in 2007.

If you like being among your fan brethren as opposed to mostly-detached locals, the chairbacks aren't that great.

Griz are the visiting team! no matter what. it was done at the begining of the playoffs.....and our side of the bracket got visitors....I HOPE TO BE THERE
